Collection: Kerman Rugs

Since the seventeenth century, Kerman has been a significant hub for carpet weaving, producing some of the highest caliber Persian carpets. One of the outstanding examples of Persian weaving are the so-called Vase Carpets from the Safavid era. Once again emerging as a manufacturer of the finest carpets in Persian tradition in the latter nineteenth century when production of Persian rugs accelerated, is Kerman. The fineness of its weaving and their finely designed, classically inspired designs, both in allover and center medallion styles, are hallmarks of this era's Kerman carpets. Kerman rugs come in a wide range of color schemes, from those that emphasize the rug's ivory, blue, and magenta tones to those that have a more golden, saffron hue.
